The Lakewood area are several neighborhoods and retail located in East Dallas. Lakewood area sit west to White Rock Lake. Also know as "Lakewood Proper". Lakewood boundaries are west of Abrahams, South of Mockingbird, and North of Gaston Rd and Country Club Rd. Its proximity White Rock Lake, Downtown Dallas, Deep Ellum, and Greenville Ave entrainment make this area a highly desirable place to live. Lakewood Country Club was built in 1912 and features a 18-hole golf course and a Club House. Lakewood Country Club originally hosted The Dallas Open which later become The Byron Nelson now being held at The Four Seasons in Las Colinas.
